In Thomas and Thomas*, a ground parrot site is mentioned along Cooloola Way in the Great Sandy National Park.

Kay Parkin and I visited this location and were privileged to see three Ground Parrot flush over the course of the afternoon, the third one flying on three short flights. I managed to get some reasonable photos on the first and third flight of this Ground Parrot much to my surprise and delight.
